Happy February y'all! This month I am taking the time to celebrate my love for my home. You see, as an ADHDer, I get overstimulated by my environment easily, so when my space is a little chaotic, you better believe my brain reflects that, too. My poor husband has to deal with that.
The last couple of weeks, I've been prepping to host a few ladies at my place for a little Galentine's brunch, and with setting up and a few of the supplies and decorations lying around the dining table, I haven't been in the best headspace. Add in the busy weeks I've had helping clients and shuffling storage products around my front door, your girl just had not had time to give her home the love it deserves.
So this past weekend, I decided to love on my home a bit, and completely overhaul my husband and I's shared home office/guest room to accommodate my current needs: more storage space for Ready Set Declutter needs. Think about it: our homes do so much for us. They shelter us, keep us comfortable, and provide a space for rest, creativity, and connection. But when life gets busy, it’s so easy to let things pile up until our homes start feeling more like a source of stress than a place of peace.

That’s why this month, I’m inviting you to show your home some love by decluttering and resetting your space in a way that supports your well-being and current needs.
If you follow me on Instagram (you should if you don't lol), you know I’ve talked about the fact that loving your home isn’t about achieving Pinterest perfection (that’s an added bonus). It's more about making your space work for you. That means clearing out the things that add stress and making it a place you love being in. Maybe that looks like finally tackling the pile of mail on the counter, donating clothes that no longer fit, or rearranging your furniture or in my case, replacing some furniture. Whatever it is, the goal is to create a space that actually feels good to live in.
Decluttering is such a form of self care. Studies show time and time again that clutter can increase stress and anxiety, making it harder to focus and relax. On the flip side, a well organized space boosts your mood, improves productivity, and even helps with better sleep. So, this is your gentle little nudge to start showing yourself and your home some love. Win - win!
You might be asking yourself, well, how do I do that exactly? Well, here are 10 quick ways to show your home some love:
Pick a specific spot for frequently misplaced items: like keys, chargers, or that one item you always lose.
Declutter digital clutter by deleting unused apps, duplicate pictures, and organizing your phone’s home screen.
Rotate seasonal clothes and accessories so only what you need is within reach.
Create a ‘last chance’ bin for items you’re hesitant to let go of. If you don’t use them in a set timeframe, donate them.
Go through your pantry and check expiration dates so you can use up or donate items before they go to waste.
Declutter your nightstand by removing anything that doesn’t contribute to relaxation and good sleep.
Organize an area by the entryway to keep shoes, bags, and everyday essentials in check.
Clear off one surface that has become a dumping ground like your nightstand, kitchen counter, or entryway table.
Open a window, let in fresh air, and set the mood with a scent that makes you feel calm.
Let go of one item that no longer serves you, whether it’s an old piece of decor or something that carries emotional weight.
As you go through this process, be kind to yourself. I'll scream this 'til I turn blue: progress is progress, no matter how small!!! And if you need a little extra support, you know where to find me. This month, let's all love our home a little bit more than usual.
XOXO, Las
